Google, Kewazinga Formalize Deal That Ended Patents Jury Trial

Alphabet Inc.'s Google finalized a settlement agreement that emerged after opening statements at a jury trial last week over its Street View feature’s alleged use of Kewazinga Corp.'s patented telepresence technology, a federal court filing shows.

Kewazinga dropped its infringement claims with prejudice—removing any chance to renew its allegations—and Google LLC agreed to dismiss its defenses, claims, and counterclaims without prejudice, according to a stipulation of dismissal approved Monday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. Kewazinga counsel Brown Rudnick LLP first announced the settlement in a Nov. 14 statement.
