Google Hit With Photographer Suit Claiming DMCA Noncompliance

Google LLC is facing a copyright infringement lawsuit alleging that YouTube failed to remove unauthorized photos from its platform when requested by the photographer through Digital Millennium Copyright Act takedown notices.

Photographer Alexander Stross said he sent four DMCA compliant takedown notices to YouTube between March 2021 and April 2022, but none of the photos have been removed, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California.

Many of Stross’ copyrighted photos depict the interior designs of houses.
