Google Fails to Invalidate Digital Mirror Patent at Tribunal

A tribunal upheld the validity of a patent covering digital mirror technology that Google’s video-call application is accused of infringing.

Google fell short of demonstrating EyesMatch Ltd.'s US Patent No. 8,982,109 is obvious based on earlier US and Japanese inventions, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board said in an decision issued Tuesday.
