Google Fails to Fully Dodge Voice Tech Patent Infringement Suit

Google Inc. must face an allegation it indirectly infringed several patents related to its Google Voice technology, though it beat claims it knew about the patents before the suit.

Google didn’t take deliberate actions to avoid learning about Flypsi Inc.'s patents, Judge Alan D. Albright ruled for the US District Court for the Western District of Texas. The tech giant dodged the direct infringement claims, but failed to convince the court to toss accusations that it continued infringing the patents after Flyp filed the suit in January.
