Google Escapes Uniloc Patent Cases Based on Fortress Agreement

Google LLC dodged 11 patent complaints brought by patent holding company Uniloc 2017 LLC after a California federal court found Uniloc lacked standing based on its breach of a revenue-sharing agreement with Fortress Credit Co. LLC.

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California used similar logic in a ruling for Apple Inc. dismissing another Uniloc suit earlier this month.
