Google Can’t Revisit Audio-Tech Patent Strategy in Sonos Suit

Alphabet Inc.’s Google can’t revise its claim construction position on one of five Sonos Inc. audio-technology patents in their California dispute based on statements made by Sonos lawyers in an Australian case addressing a limited issue over a different claim, a US judge ruled.

“The statements carry too little weight to grant Google’s request,” Judge William Alsup said in an order issued Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, denying its motion for leave to file supplemental briefing.
