Google Calls Sonos Audio Patent Claims ‘Revisionist History’

Google LLC responded to patent claims brought against it by audio company Sonos Inc. in Los Angeles federal court, calling Sonos’ claims that Google stole its technology “revisionist history.”

“The technologies Google uses were all independently developed by Google,” it told the court Monday. “They are not technologies Google took from Sonos, and they are not the technologies described in the five patents Sonos asserts.”

Google also requested that the court invalidate Sonos’s multi-room audio patents because the ideas were “already known in the field” and “obvious and dated” when Sonos applied for them.
