Google Avoids ‘Gemini’ Ban During Speaker Company Trademark Suit

A speakers-and-headphones company failed to convince a federal court to block Google LLC from using “Gemini” branding to link speakers to its AI platform during a its trademark suit.

P2B Trading Co. established a “plausible case” but not “a substantial likelihood” of showing Google’s use of Gemini infringed its trademark, the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida said in a brief order March 20. Judge Timothy J. Corrigan’s decision declined to address Google’s bid to transfer the case to the Northern District of California.
