Google Accused of Infringing ‘Flow’ Trademarks With AI Offering

Software company Autodesk Inc. accused Google LLC of using “Flow” to brand an AI filmmaking tool despite providing assurances it wouldn’t.

Google’s “Flow” trademark infringes software trademarks including “Autodesk Flow” and “Flow Capture,” Autodesk said in a complaint in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. The tech giant allegedly told Autodesk it didn’t plan to commercialize the term even as it was filing trademark applications internationally and planning to roll it out as a brand.
