Elite Golf Technology LLC, a publisher of books that map out the contours of putting greens around the world, filed suit in federal court in Delaware, alleging competitor Competitive Golf Advantage LLC is infringing on its trademark for the phrase “THE BOOK.”
EGT, doing business as StrackaLine, was founded in 2007 by a father Jim and son Chase Stracka, according to the complaint.
The company collects data from the putting greens of golf courses, which is then produced into a topographical map showing their contours and slopes.
