Gogo Wins on One Patent as SmartSky Wi-Fi Claims Head to Trial

Gogo Inc. persuaded a federal judge to void one of SmartSky Networks LLC’s in-flight internet patents while leaving infringement and misconduct claims related to five others for a jury to decide.

Judge Joshua D. Wolson granted Gogo summary judgment that US Patent No. 10,257,717 is invalid because it fails to clearly describe what the invention covers, in an opinion issued Thursday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
