Gogo Sued for Damages on Air-to-Ground Network Patents (1)

Gogo Inc.’s 5G inflight Internet service has yet to launch, but it’s already the target of a lawsuit filed by SmartSky Networks LLC alleging Gogo’s air-to-ground communications network infringes four patents for the technology.

SmartSky is seeking profits lost to Gogo’s U.S. sales of subscriptions and related equipment, as well as a reasonable royalty on any infringing sales, according to a complaint filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. It also wants the court to block sales while the suit proceeds and until the patents have expired.
