Gogo Owes SmartSky $23 Million Over In-Flight 5G Patents (1)

Gogo Inc. owes SmartSky Networks LLC $22.7 million for infringing claims in four SmartSky patents with its in-flight 5G network and two component systems, a federal jury in Delaware found.

Gogo’s 5G network—including its Avance X3 and LX5 line replaceable units and MB-13 antennas—infringe US Patent Nos. 9,312,947, 11,223,417, 9,730,077, and 11,533,639, which cover ground-based air-to-ground networks that provide in-flight internet service, according to a verdict issued Friday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
