GoDaddy Owes $170 Million in Express Mobile Patent Verdict (2)

GoDaddy.com LLC owes Express Mobile Inc. $170 million for infringing website-building patents, a federal jury in Delaware said.

The Thursday verdict, made public Friday, found the GoDaddy Inc. unit infringed US Patent Nos. 6,546,397 and 7,594,168 with its Website Builder and Managed WordPress tools.

Jurors found the infringement was intentional, giving the judge the option to increase the damages to as much as triple the amount awarded. They also rejected GoDaddy’s arguments for invalidating the patents.
