GM Sued by Patent Owner Over Infotainment Systems in Vehicles

AutoNavigare LLC accused General Motors of violating six navigation and infotainment system patents in GM vehicles.

Infotainment systems in Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac infringe patents covering navigation data updates, waypoint displays, vehicle position correction, route searching, energy consumption prediction, and smartphone integration technologies, according to AutoNavigare’s complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

AutoNavigare seeks monetary damages, including enhanced damages for willful infringement.

GM didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
