Ilumi Solutions Inc., doing business as Meshtek Labs Inc., sued Gemstone Lights Canada Ltd. for allegedly infringing several patents dealing with wireless lighting technology methods by creating products that use Bluetooth to control LED lights.
Gemstone’s light system and smartphone app allow users to control LED lights wirelessly, according to the complaint filed Friday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The light system and smartphone app use similar methods as US Patent Nos. 8,890,435, 8,922,126, 9,295,144, 8,742,694, 8,896,218 and 8,896,232, Meshtek Labs said.
