Gap Sued By Customer Over Driver’s License Data Privacy

The Gap Inc. faces a proposed class action in New Hampshire federal court accusing the clothing retailer of violating a state consumer privacy law.

The litigation, originally filed in state court, qualifies for a shift to federal court because the alleged damages “far exceed $5 million” and involve more than 100 potential class members, Gap said in its notice of removal filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the District of New Hampshire.
