Gap Ripped Off Iconic Fleece Pullover, Patagonia Says in Lawsuit

Patagonia Inc. sued The Gap Inc. in San Francisco federal court on Tuesday for selling fleece pullover sweaters it says look nearly identical to Patagonia’s “Snap-T” fleece that it introduced in 1985.

Gap’s fleece pullover mimics all elements of the Snap-T, including a rectangular logo above the snapped flap breast pocket and piping along the collar, cuff, and waist in contrasting colors with the rest of the pullover, according to the complaint.
