Australian electronic gambling company Aristocrat Technologies Inc. secured $127.5 million to settle its IP suit alleging a competitor copied of its Dragon Link game.
Las Vegas-based Light & Wonder Inc. said in the Jan. 11 joint release that it will pay Aristocrat to end litigation in two countries while acknowledging that “certain Aristocrat math information was used” to develop its own dragon-themed games. Aristocrat’s trade secrets, copyright, and trade secrets suit alleged Light & Wonder developed suspiciously similar games after hiring multiple former Aristocrat executives and game designers.
