Full Federal Circuit Urged to Rehear Driveshift Patent Case (1)

The Federal Circuit’s former top judge, a dozen law professors and a biotech trade group are all pressing for a full-bench review of a ruling that invalidated an automobile drive shift patent for covering a natural law.

Retired chief judge Paul Michel, the Biotechnology Innovation Organization and the law professors filed separate amicus briefs Dec. 12 supporting American Axle & Manufacturing Inc.'s bid for an en banc rehearing of American Axle & Manufacturing. Inc. v. Neapco Holdings LLC.
