FujiFilm, Inventor Settle Suits Over Image-Correction Patents

FujiFilm North America Corp. and a California inventor settled two lawsuits over patents covering camera technology that automatically corrects distorted images, according to federal court filings.

Judge Haywood S. Gilliam Jr. terminated Optimum Imaging Technologies LLC’s motion to transfer FujiFilm’s suit seeking declaratory judgment of noninfringement on Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, citing the parties’ March 25 status report disclosing they’d reached a settlement-in-principle.

The status report came a week after the parties told a federal Texas court they’d settled Optimum’s suit accusing the digital camera manufacturer of infringing four patents.
