Forum Energy, FMC Resolve Oilfield Patent Inventorship Dispute

A Forum Energy Technologies Inc. unit and a TechnipFMC PLC subsidiary settled their dispute over the inventorship of an oilfield hydraulic fracturing system patent.

Judge Lee H. Rosenthal dismissed Forum USA Inc. and FMC Technologies Inc.’s dispute Jan. 16 after the parties reached an “amicable settlement,” The deal was first revelaed during a settlement conference Jan. 14, according to a docket entry.

The dispute in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas centered on a consultant services agreement between FMC and Bill Bridges Longstroke Technology LLC to develop a dual-stroke closed-loop hydraulic fracturing system.
