Fortress Beats Intel Antitrust Suit Over Patent Aggregation

Fortress Investment Group has beaten an antitrust suit from Intel Corp., which sought to end the SoftBank Group Corp. subsidiary’s “campaign of anticompetitive patent aggregation.”

Judge Edward Chen in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California awarded Fortress judgment and dismissed the case Sept. 28. The reasons for the judge’s decision aren’t publicly known because the opinion is sealed.
