Ford Is Sued for Patent Royalties on SYNC Infotainment System

Closely held Safe Driving Technologies said Ford’s SYNC infotainment system, which aims to reduce a driver’s distraction by allowing access to features without letting go of the steering wheel, infringes four patents related to vehicles’ safety control systems.

  • SDT is seeking cash compensation of at least a reasonable royalty and either a court order blocking further unauthorized use of its inventions or an ongoing royalty, according to a complaint filed Thursday in federal court in Wilmington, Delaware
