Private jet booking company Flewber Inc. argues its name doesn’t infringe Uber Technologies Inc. trademark rights, in a New York federal lawsuit seeking to regain its web domain.
Uber won the domain in a dispute before the World Intellectual Property Organization on Nov. 30 by default after notification of the case was caught in Flewber’s spam filter, the company said in its complaint. Flewber said Uber knew about the domain since at least 2019 and filed its September complaint to the WIPO in bad faith, arguing the companies names are “neither identical nor confusingly similar” in the US District Court ...
