Fitbit Wins 7-Year-Old Patent Case With Federal Circuit Rulings

Google LLC unit Fitbit fended off a patent owner’s effort to revive a long-running lawsuit over alleged infringement of patents relating data-transfer technology.

The Federal Circuit on Friday rejected CellSpin Soft Inc.'s appeals of two decisions by Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers of the US District Court for the Northern District of California, one clearing Fitbit and several other companie sof infringing three patents and another declining to recuse herself from the case after Google—in which she and her husband had indirect investments—acquired Fitbit.
