Fintech Greenlight Hits AI Compliance Firm With Trademark Suit

Greenlight Financial Technology Inc. accused Greenlite Inc. of trademark infringement and dilution, saying in a lawsuit Greenlite’s similar name is likely to cause consumer confusion.

Greenlight has incontestable federal trademark registrations for the GREENLIGHT mark dating to 2016, and it’s spent years building brand recognition for its debit card and mobile financial app for families, the fintech said in a complaint filed Aug. 15 in the US District Court for the District of Delaware. Greenlite, founded around 2023, provides artificial intelligence compliance solutions to banks and fintechs using the confusingly similar “Greenlite” name, according to the complaint.
