Fidelity Settles to Escape Patent Lawsuit Over Trading Platforms

Intercurrency Software LLC settled its lawsuit against Fidelity Brokerage Services LLC, allowing one defendant to exit a patent infringement litigation campaign targeting trading platforms, including those run by Morgan Stanley & Co., Charles Schwab & Co., and TD Ameritrade.

Judge Rodney Gilstrap on Tuesday granted Intercurrency and Fidelity’s joint motion to stay the Smithfield, R.I.-based brokerage’s participation in the case for 30 days as they finalize a settlement in principle and file dismissal paperwork.
