Federal Circuit Extends Pandemic-Related Courthouse Closure

Aug. 13, 2020, 6:18 PM UTC

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit extended its restrictions on public access to the courthouse.

Only staff may enter the building, which also houses the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, until Sept. 14. The order extends an earlier order that restricted access until Aug. 14.

The court will continue to consider requests by the public to enter the building on a case-by-case basis.

The court has been operating mostly remotely since mid-March to mitigate community transmission of Covid-19. It will hold oral arguments by telephone in September for a sixth month.
