Federal Circuit Considers Call to Overturn Patent Precedent

Trimble Inc. asked the Federal Circuit at oral argument to revive its suit seeking a ruling that its driver logging devices don’t infringe patents on location tracking.

A federal trial court dismissed Trimble’s claims against patent owner PerDiemCo LLC, finding that U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit precedent dictated that exercising personal jurisdiction over PerDiem in California would violate its due process rights.
