Federal Circuit Asked to Nix Board Probe of Patent in Cisco Suit

Cybersecurity firm Centripetal Networks LLC urged the Federal Circuit to stop a US Patent and Trademark Office tribunal’s validity review of a patent that was part of a wiped-out $1.9 billion verdict against Cisco Systems Inc.

The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit vacated that award in a case alleging infringement of several patents, including US Patent No. 9,917,856, due to the presiding judge’s wife’s 100 shares of Cisco stock.
