Federal Circuit Affirms Uber Wins Invalidating Tracking Patents

The Federal Circuit affirmed tribunal decisions nixing parts of two location-tracking patents which Uber Technologies Inc. is accused of infringing.

The appeals court rejected LBT IP II LLC’s arguments that Uber’s proffered evidence didn’t support the Patent Trial and Appeal Board’s rulings invalidating US Patent Nos. 7,598,855 and 8,531,289, according to a pair of orders issued Friday.
