Facebook Inc. is buying patents again in the domestic brokered patent market, after a two-year hiatus, according to data provided to Bloomberg Law by patent market data and analytics service Richardson Oliver Insights.
Facebook purchased 107 U.S. patent assets in the third quarter of 2018, ROI’s data show. The patents it bought in July mostly related to wireless communications and web security, according to U.S. Patent and Trademark Office assignment records.
