Japanese animation studio Khara Inc., best known for its “Rebuild of Evangelion” films, is suing several “online counterfeiters” for selling clothing and other goods that infringe its trademarks tied to the anime series “Neon Genesis Evangelion.”
The alleged counterfeiters, most likely located in China and other countries, have created “fake online storefronts” that claim to sell genuine merchandise while actually selling “inferior imitations” of Khara’s products, the company said in a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
