Ericsson and Samsung Wage Patent Fight in U.S., China Courts (1)

Ericsson lodged a new patent-infringement complaint against Samsung Electronics Co., pitting courts in the U.S. and China against one another.

In complaints filed New Year’s Day with a federal court in Texas and Monday at the International Trade Commission in Washington, Ericsson claims Samsung smartphones, tablets and televisions are using its patented technologies for mobile communications. It’s seeking an ITC order to block imports of Samsung devices, and asks the federal court in Texas to force Samsung to pay royalties.
