Entropic Sues Ubee, Vantiva in Patent Suits Over Cable Products

Entropic Communications LLC accused Ubee Interactive Holding Corp. and Vantiva SA of patent infringement over the sale of cable modems and TV set-top boxes.

Taiwanese Ubee and French Vantiva were originally notified about the infringement concerns when Entropic sued the foreign companies’ customers including Cox Communications Inc. and Charter Communications Inc. according to complaints filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.Entropic said the accused products use methods for delivering video and broadband internet services over coaxial cable networks.
