Ensign Sued By JCA’s C-MOR on Oil-Drilling Rig Lighting Systems

Ensign Energy Services Inc. was hit with a lawsuit by JCA Cos.’ C-MOR Energy, which alleges Ensign breached their contract and infringed a patent related to lighting systems for oil-drilling rigs when it replaced C-MOR’s Crown Jewel lighting systems on at least two Ensign rigs with another supplier’s systems.

C&M Oilfield Rentals LLC, as C-MOR is formally named, filed the complaint Thursday in the U.S. District for the Southern District of Texas. It’s seeking damages for infringement and for breach of contractual obligations.
