Eli Lilly Sues Sun to Block Copies of Forteo Osteoporosis Drug

Eli Lilly said a generic version of Forteo proposed by Sun Pharmaceutical infringes a patent for the injectable osteoporosis treatment.

• Lilly is seeking court order blocking copies until patent has expired, according to complaint filed July 28 in federal court in Wilmington, Delaware
  • Patent covers injection device used to administer the drug, complaint says, and expires in March 2025: supplemental filing
