Several Republican-led states and the US Department of Education dropped appeals in a case over a Biden-era student loan forgiveness rule that’s been effectively ended by the Trump administration.
The parties on Tuesday stipulated to the dismissal of two appeals in the US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit over a 2024 preliminary injunction blocking the federal government from implementing the SAVE Plan. Republican-led states also led a challenge in the Eastern District of Missouri, which separately halted the Biden administration from granting further loan forgiveness under the program.
