EasyJet Trademark Suit Advances Against Colombian Easyfly, Kayak

The U.K. owner of the “Easy” family of trademarks, including British airline EasyJet, advanced part of its trademark infringement lawsuit against Colombian airline Easyfly and travel website Kayak Software Corp., according to a ruling by a Miami federal court.

EasyGroup Ltd.—which owns 21 trademarks registered in the U.S., including “EasyJet” and “EasyFly"—is moving forward with direct infringement and unfair competition claims against the Colombian airline, which operates in Colombia but accepts ticket purchases from U.S. customers over third-party booking sites.
