DynaIP Entity Sues LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram Over Patent

Street Spirit IP LLC filed a trio of suits in federal court in Northern California, targeting Mircosoft Corp.'s LinkedIn and Meta Platforms Inc. properties Instagram and Facebook for infringement of a identity-verification patent for social networks.

Street Spirit has been identified by Rational Patent Exchange as a non-practicing entity associated with Dynamic IP Deals LLC, or DynaIP, a patent monetization company.

Each suit asserts infringement by the social media companies of US Patent No. 9,282,090, which describes a method of using ID verification to curb cyberstalking and cyber-bullying.
