Dweebs Candy Maker Hit With Trademark Lawsuit by Nerds Owner

A revived version of Dweebs candy infringes the famous trademarks for Ferrara Candy Co.'s Nerds, the Chicago-based confectioner said in a lawsuit.

British candymakers American Continental Ltd. and American Fizz (UK) Ltd. adopted the “Dweebs” mark and packaging trade dress that is nearly identical to Ferrara’s iconic Nerds products, including the irregular candy shape, dual color packaging, and cloud logos, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
