Dunder Mifflin Trademark Registered by ‘Squatter,’ NBC Claims

NBCUniversal Media LLC claimed that a “trademark squatter” unlawfully obtained a federal registration for Dunder Mifflin, the fictional paper company from the hit comedy show “The Office,” in a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles federal court.

The complaint alleged that Jay Kennette Media Group LLC has built a business around registering trademarks for fictional entities found in TV shows, movies, and video games and selling them back to the rightful owners.
