DSW Shoe Warehouse Inc. accused music giants Sony Music Entertainment and UMG Recordings Inc. of trying to “pull the rug out” from under them by threatening copyright litigation over social media posts incorporating samples of the labels’ music.
The labels sent demand letters saying attaching music samples is copyright infringement because DSW is “operating a business,"" DSW said in lawsuit filed Wednesday seeking declaratory judgment of no copyright infringement.
