Rapper Drake’s company October’s Very Own sued the makers of shoes featuring an owl logo that OVO called confusingly similar to its own owl trademark in Manhattan federal court.
Australian leather accessory maker Bellroy Pty Ltd. allegedly altered its “stocky, hunched-over owl” to mimic OVO’s owl before using it to compete with OVO in its “core business” of footwear, according to the Thursday complaint.
The complaint says OVO has “grown into one of the world’s most renowned fashion brands,” and uses a federally registered owl trademark on clothing and footwear.
