DraftKings Gets Patent Suit Over Micro-Betting Technology Tossed

DraftKings Inc. defeated a lawsuit accusing its Sportsbook website and mobile app of using micro-betting and location-based wagering technology without permission, after a New Jersey federal judge found the patents ineligible as abstract ideas.

Judge Zahid N. Quraishi granted DraftKings’ motion to dismiss and threw out Micro-Gaming Ventures LLC’s complaint with prejudice, according to his opinion issued Monday in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey.
