DraftKings, FanDuel Hit With Patent Suits Over Gaming Technology

Sports betting giants DraftKings Inc. and FanDuel Inc. were hit with new lawsuits accusing them of infringing online and mobile gaming patents.

DraftKings and FanDuel infringed nine patents, according to separate complaints filed by WinView IP Holdings LLC Monday in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey. The patents cover a wide range of technology, WinView said, including mobile device asset management, location-based filtering to provide game options, and receiving and triggering a lockout signal, among other technologies. The accused produces include DraftKings Sportsbook, DK Horse, FanDuel Casino and FanDuel Racing, the complaints said.
