Dr. Brown’s Says Infant Drink Doesn’t Infringe Soda Trademark

Dr. Brown’s Co. is seeking federal court protection from trademark claims after three beverage companies demanded that the baby bottle manufacturer stop using “Dr. Brown’s” for infant electrolyte drinks.

The letter from Dr. Brown’s Beverage Co., Beverage Distribution Center Inc., and Canada Dry Bottling Co. of New York accused Dr. Brown’s Co. of trademark infringement and dilution, according to the complaint filed Wednesday.

But Dr. Brown’s Co. told the US District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri that the defendants wrongly claim ownership of all Dr. Brown’s trademarks for non-alcoholic beverages, and its electrolyte solutions for babies are distinct ...
