DoorDash’s new “Zesty” AI-powered food discovery app infringes the trademark of a competing “Zest” app that launched one year prior, a new California federal lawsuit claims.

DoorDash likely knew of Zest Maps Inc. and its own “AI-powered food discovery and social mapping product” before Zesty’s December 2025 launch, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Zesty pointed to the reach of its launch announcement a year earlier on LinkedIn, where several DoorDash employees are connected with Zest’s CEO and co-founder.
