NEW YORK—The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York has authorized the seizure of the domain names of seven popular websites accused of criminal copyright infringement for showing films and television shows without permission, federal authorities announced June 30 (United States v. TVShack.net).
Acting on warrant requests unsealed June 30, Magistrate Judge Ronald L. Ellis authorized the seizure of the websites TVShack.net, Movies-Links.tv, FilesPump.com, Now-Movies.com, PlanetMoviez.com, ThePirateCity.org, and ZML.com. Federal agents sought the warrants in a June 29 affidavit.
